- There are the following limitations of computers that may be considered for a computer :
- Programmed and Supervised by Humans :
- Though the computer is programmed to work efficiently, quickly, and accurately but it is still programmed by human beings to do so. Without a program, a computer is nothing. A computer only follows these given instructions. If the instructions are not accurate the working of the computer will not be accurate.
- Without supervision, computers will operate poorly when dealing with unexpected circumstances, such as information or instructions that are incorrect or incomplete.
- No Intelligence/IQ :
- Although computers are faster, more diligent, more accurate, and more versatile than human beings, unlike human beings, computers do not have their own intelligence. Its performance depends on instructions given to it. It cannot carry any task on its own and can’t take any decision on its own when required.
- A computer behaves like a dumb machine and it cannot do any work without instructions given from the user. It is the user to decide what he wants to do and in what sequence. So a computer cannot make its own decisions as we can do generally.
- Self Care :
- Computers can not care/maintain for themselves from time to time like humans. Rather a computer is still dependent on human beings for this purpose.
- Emotionless/No Feelings :
- This limitations of computer says that Computers are emotionless. They do not have emotions and feelings like human beings.
- A computer can not feel about something like a human. A computer can not compete with humans in respect of relations.
- Computers are simply machines that work as per the instructions given to them. They can’t change their process/work on an emotional basis.
- It does not have feelings or emotion, taste, knowledge or experience. Thus it does not get tired even after long hours of work. It does not distinguish between users.
- Thinking :
- A computer can not think itself. The concept of artificial intelligence helps the computer to think but is limited. But still, this concept is dependent on a set of instructions provided by human beings.
- Retrieval of Memory :
- A computer can retrieve data very fast but this technique is linear. A human being’s mind does not follow this rule. A human mind can think randomly which a computer machine can not.
- Programmed and Supervised by Humans :
